Locations
The Shelby Plant began producing fiber glass in 1959 with 600 employees. Today, 10 major expansions later, it has around 650 employees (NEG and contractors) in a facility covering 1.2 million square feet on a 300 acre site. The plant’s fiber glass reinforcement product lines include direct draw rovings, woven roving, chopped strands, continuous strand mat, Azdel mat, and wet chop.

Lexington Plant construction started in May of 1966 and in May of 1967 fiber glass production began. Now, 52 years later, the plant has 4 operating furnaces and around 237 employees (NEG and contractors) in an manufacturing facility and warehouse covering 3.1 million square feet on a 203 acre site. The product mix is direct draw rovings, woven roving, wet and dry chopped strands.
